automated migration into SimplePractice
Hi all,
I wanted to find out if anyone had found a consultant that could more automate the migration of client and client documents into SimplePractice. From what I understand, the basic migration method is you make a spreadsheet of the basic info on each client, import it, then manually repopulate all the documents, like attach to their accounts, from some local folder on your computer e.g. Then any portal (re)welcome message is sent out to help them connect with SimplePractice portal, and ask for more documents from the client.
As an application analysts for other EHR's, I know sometimes a side business of migration or "data divorce" consultancy comes up from the need to save so many hours of importing documents. As long as the source documents are indexed well (for example, a folder with the name and DOB of the client containing all their documents), an automated script can run through a source directory and repeatedly peform each import into the new EHR as needed. It takes mostly some knowledge of the destination database and storage and some commands sometimes.
I wanted to find out if anyone had heard of any consultants that do this, or if there is any whitepaper on the SimplePractice API's if there are any, which would allow someone (authorized by SimplePractice) to do this work. I might even look into it myself out of necessity as we have many clients at our practice to migrate if we move forward.
For any information I would greatly appreciate it!
Thank you!
