Data Security Breach at Simple Practice?

A client sent me the following email:

"Just wanted to give you a heads up that I got a weird, obviously a scam, message on What's App from someone that was posing as someone sent to me by you.  They said, "(Therapist's Name) recommended you talk to me, how are things in (the town we specifically live in)?".  I could only assume it meant you as you're the only (Therapist's Name)  I know, and given the verbiage I might assume they know I'm a client. Anyway, very scammy, I reported them to What's App, but I thought I'd share it with you, I'm not sure how that information could've leaked. I blocked them as well, trying to see if I can find the message, but it was clearly a burner account." 

It seems that the only place someone could have gotten this information is through Simple Practice.  Is there a way to find out if my client data has been breached?

  This is interesting and concerning. Has anyone gotten word from SP on this yet?

  We have not had any security breaches in SimplePractice, however, I have gone ahead and created a Help Request on your behalf so that someone from our Customer Success team can follow up with you to discuss this further if you would like.
