Aetna PP Telehealth insurance code

Hi all,

I recenly provided super bill for a patient regarding Telehhealth service ( video visit) for Aetna PPO , 90834 (02). However, Patient said that it was declined because the code did not meet the place of service code. I wonder if anyone can share their wisdom regarding the exact right code ?

  Hi,

  Did you add a "GT" or "95" modifier?  It is required.  These can be set to automatically auto-populate at "Edit Client / Billing and Insurance / Client Default Services."

  What place of service code should be used for telemedicine services?

  For commercial members non-facility telemedicine claims must use POS 02 with the GT or 95 modifier. Fee schedules have been updated so claims with approved telemedicine CPT codes and modifiers with POS 02 will be reimbursed at the same rate as an equal office visit.
