New Modifier "HO" for Medicare and Medicaid patients placement on Form 1500 Post#2

As of 7-1-22 we are now allowed to send Medicaid a bill for someone who has both Medicare and Medicaid IF Medicare does not cover that service.  We are required to use modifier HO in the 'last' position available on form 1500 for modifiers.  I cannot make Simple Practice download the modifier into that last position.  If I place spaces into the client's 'billing' screen for the 2nd and 3rd position of a service, SP still defaults HO into the second position (as I have a different modifier required in the first position).  If I try spaces or dashes in the appointment pop up, Simple Practice returns an error saying 'invalid character.'  Has anyone else run into this?  If yes, how did you work around it?  I have too many claims to try and modify them all by hand after downloading.

I really would like comments from the end users to see if someone has found a solution.  I did receive a few tips/things to try from customer service but they did not work.  Other than manually typing/fixing each and every form there was no solution found.
