partial cash payment

I am in the process of retiring & a few clients have outstanding balances, for which they are making cash partial payments.  I carefully followed the SP video instructions, but when it comes to adding a payment, I get an error message: "payment cannot be less than invoice"

Please, PLEASE explain how a partial payment can be made when the platform says NO!

  Hi Jami,

  With the release of our new billing update, you can now add partial payments for invoices, however, this is only allowed for new invoices. In order to add the partial payment, you will need to delete and recreate the invoice to do this. I recommend creating a Help Request is you need further assistance with this.
