I am also looking to create a report for stripe fees for my accounting and meeting with CPA. How do I do this?

You can see the fees and export the transaction reports
Go to reports: payouts: click the date range (I use this year) and the. Click the “Transaction” that’s highlighted in blue with each indivual transaction. Sucks but there you have the fee report.

Thanks Leo, ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME??  My husband is a data analyst and absolutely refused to believe that there was not an EASY report for something that is so necessary for tax prep.

SUPER ANNOYING that the fees are not easily calculated.

Definitely agree that this is needed

To whomever at Simple Practice is monitoring this thread:

I too went searching for the fee data. I followed Leo's tip (Thanks!). Simple Practice (SP) absolutely needs to be more transparent about these fees. I do not have time to click on every one of triple digit transactions to determine what my expense was for offering convenience payment in 2022.

I tried to log into Stripe directly to access this information, and it is not there either. (More disturbingly, none of my Stripe transactions are accessible after Nov 2021.)

It bothers me deeply that SP has been silent on this thread. I would prefer not to conclude that Simple Practice is hiding this data. What say you?

Update: I would like to edit my earlier comment from "hiding" the data to "burying" it. I was able to calculate the sum of Stripe fees from the exported transaction excel file. But why can I no longer access detailed data on transactions from Stripe? Didn't we just get served a fee increase from Stripe; doesn't that at least warrant a return to a higher level of data analytics.

Something still isn't right about all this. Customers in this community have been asking about this data for years, often around tax time. And the answer from Simple Practice has never been, "Sure, we understand your need for this expense report. We will make this easy."

    Hi all,

I am in agreement with this.  I feel like last year there was a way to print out all the Stripe fees through simple practice and now it is gone?  Also, Leo and anyone else, are these instructions for Simple Practice or Quickbooks to create your own report?  I don't see a "reports" and "payouts" in Simple Practice.  Thanks!

Oops, never mind! I found it under Analytics.  Thanks

If you export your tax report (Under Income in the Reports section) you will be emailed a report showing all expenses: claims processing, stripe fees, subscription to SP, etc.

I wanted to share my agreement with the others who have requested a stripe fee report. My bookkeeper needs this information every month, and having to click on each transaction and calculate manually is very cumbersome.

Having a report that can create a monthly report that contains stripe fees is something that bookkeepers do in fact ask for.  Currently and as others mentioned, it can be time-consuming for therapists/centers because you have to identify the stripe fee amounts for the month by identifying each specific deposit made into bank account, adding individual amounts connected to each deposit, and deleting of client names.  It seems like all the data is there and all that SP engineers would need to do is manipulate the data to create a report.  The report would include each total deposit when it was available for deposit into bank, and total stripe fees amounts for that specific deposit, and lastly a total of those stripe fee amounts.

Hey SP - can you please comment? I also need this report, which seems to have been placed in a very hard to find location in 2023, for my CPA/bookkeeping. In 2022, this was not an intuitive process, but it was at least possible. Please make this report easy and intuitive to access, we all need it monthly and it should be a few easy clicks - the fact that its so hard to find is a waste of time and feels totally sus. Where can we find Stripe reports??

It is ridiculous that there is no report accessing stripe fees broken down by clinician and date, or incorporating the stripe fees in the income allocation report. With the huge subscription cost that SP charges group practices, adding this essential feature should have been addressed a long time ago. Very disappointing to see no response from SP and really shows a lack of understanding to what your customers need to operate their businesses efficiently.

I found the stripe fees broken down by each transaction by going to Billing-Card Transactions.  It looks like the fee percentage is 3.5%.

Simple Practice - please advise how we can access the "Simple Practice Summary Report" for Strip fees paid for 2022. This is a one-page document my CPA is asking for and I cannot find it anywhere.

Patty that's because there isn't one. Above in the thread you'll see that we found the fees but you have to click each individual transaction to get this fee.

Seems to me SimplePractice doesn't read their community forums....

Oh they do. They just ignore forum topics that make them, or their lucrative partnership with Stripe look bad. Burying fees charged by their partner to their clients is a shady business practice by SP. Stripe fees are 2-3X that of other reputable cc processors and it's just 1 easy extra step for billing.

Hello all - I totally figured it out this year!! Go to billing and download the report of all card transactions for 2023.  You will have a spreadsheet of all charges, clients' names, dates etc. and the fees!  Simply insert "sum" command at the bottom of the column for fees and it will add them up.

This still doesn’t allow us to view the fees broken down by week or by clinician for payroll purposes. Not helpful.
