Recurring Patients and Counting visits
Answered1. I like the feature SimplePractice has about counting visits, it is very useful. Although, it counts appointments for all time. I have patients that come and go throughout the years, sometimes multiple times a year and it its confusing having all visits counting so many (some patients have over 100 visits). It would be nice to have this feature reset or restart counting from certain points. For example, when a new authorization for visits is approved, a new calendar year, new diagnosis, or after returning from vacation or sickness.
2. In order to solve this issue, I thought about possibly having different "cases" under a patient. Where you can see treatment, diagnosis, notes, etc under a certain plan of care. This would be divided into multiple "case files" under a patient's tab. So, if they came in for leg pain for a few weeks, this would be a separate "case" then when they came a few months later for arthritis, and so on. This way each time a patient is seen for a different issue it is divided and organized, not mixed in and counted as one occurrence. I understand this is a large ask, but just throwing it out there. Maybe there is a better solution.
3. Would it be possible to differentiate in the patient's tab more clearly appointments and chart notes. I understand they are labeled, but maybe color code them or indent chart notes? Just scrolling through sometimes it feels like all one item.
