This article introduces the process for transferring client data from another EHR into SimplePractice and explains what to expect before you begin.
If you’re moving from another EHR, our team can help transfer client data to your new SimplePractice account.
Note: These steps also apply if you’re transferring from a non-EHR system, such as paper records. If you’re transferring between two SimplePractice accounts, see Transferring client data between SimplePractice accounts.
To transfer client data to SimplePractice, you’ll complete and upload a client data template. Our team will use this template to create client profiles in your new account.
Important: Our system can’t import clinical notes, billing documentation, and appointments from another platform into a SimplePractice account.
The transfer process must be completed in a specific order. Each step below links to a separate guide in this series:
-

- Learn what information can be transferred, and what to prepare for the transfer

- Enter your client information into the template and submit it to our team for review

-
Storing client documentation and other items for imported clients
