Managing push notifications and other settings on Android

You can customize your experience on the SimplePractice for Clinicians mobile app by adjusting settings in the app, including push notifications for new messages and appointment activity. Below, we'll cover:

Managing push notifications on Android

Push notifications from your mobile device can notify you of important details about your practice, such as upcoming appointments, new appointment requests, and Secure Messages.

To enable or disable push notifications within the SimplePractice for Clinicians app:

  1. Tap the profile icon in the top left corner
  2. Select Settings
  3. Toggle on Push notifications

  1. Tap Notification preferences
  2. Select the boxes next to Upcoming appointments, New secure messages, and/or New appointment requests
    • You can also toggle All if you want all of these enabled

You can also choose when a reminder for an appointment will be sent before the appointment. To do this:

  1. From Settings, tap Appointment notification delivery to choose how long before an appointment a reminder will be sent
  2. Choose At the start, 5 minutes before, 15 minutes before, 30 minutes before, 1 hour before, or 2 hours before

Managing other settings on Android

There are other settings available in the mobile app. After tapping your profile in the upper left corner and selecting Settings in the app, you can toggle on the following features.

Settings Description
Use passcode
  • When this is toggled on, a custom passcode will be required when you open the mobile app, which can provide extra security for your mobile app
  • After toggling this on, you'll be prompted to set up a custom 4-digit passcode for the mobile app
    • After this is confirmed, you can change the passcode at any time
Use practice time zone
  • When this is toggled on, your practice's time zone will be reflected in the mobile app regardless of your device's settings
    • To set your practice's time zone, see Managing time zones
    • If this isn't toggled on, the time zone of the mobile app will reflect your device's settings

All settings can be toggled off and back on at any time.
