Your target caseload lets you set a goal for how many clients and sessions you’d like in your practice over the next 6 months. Setting a target can help you understand your current caseload, plan for growth, and receive more relevant referrals based on your availability.
Note: Setting a target caseload is optional, and you can update or remove it at any time.

Setting your target caseload
You can manage your target caseload from the Caseload management page.
To do this:
- Navigate to Settings > Scheduling and inquiries > Caseload management
- Enter your goals:
- Ideal number of clients within the next 6 months
- Target weekly sessions within the next 6 months
- Click Save changes
Setting a target for other clinicians (group practices)
If you’re an Account Owner, practice manager, or clinician with entire practice access in a group practice, you can set a target caseload for other clinicians.
To do this:
- Navigate to Settings > Scheduling and inquiries > Caseload management
- Select the pencil icon next to a clinician
- Enter their:
- Ideal number of clients within the next 6 months
- Target weekly sessions within the next 6 months
- Click Save
Viewing caseload estimates and insights
As you enter your target caseload, you’ll see estimated values for how the target may affect your practice in the What this means section. These include:
- The difference between your current caseload and your target
- Estimated client-facing hours per week
- Estimated client-facing hours per month
These estimates are based on 50-minute sessions and are intended for planning purposes only.

Will this affect my visibility or ability to receive clients?
No. Setting a target caseload doesn’t limit your visibility or prevent you from receiving clients. It’s used to help improve the relevance of referrals and insights.

While caseload management may help improve the quality and relevance of referrals, it doesn’t guarantee a specific number of clients.
What if I don’t want to receive referrals?
You can still set a target caseload to receive insights about your practice, even if you’re not actively seeking referrals.
