The SimplePractice for Clinicians mobile app on Android lets clinicians access key features while away from the browser version. This guide covers supported devices, how to download the app, feature availability, and using SimplePractice on an Android tablet.
Note: Team members without a clinician role won’t be able to use the app.

Devices and Android versions that can support the app
If you have Android 12.0 or newer as the operating system for your device, you can download the SimplePractice for Clinicians app for Android for free.

Note: We also recommend using recent models of Android devices, as Android and SimplePractice may periodically discontinue support for older devices.
Downloading the app for Android
To download the SimplePractice mobile app on Android:
- Open the Play Store
- Tap the search icon in the bottom right
- Search for SimplePractice for Clinicians
- Tap SimplePractice for Clinicians
- Tap Install to download the app
- Once the download is complete, tap OPEN directly from the Play Store or navigate back to your Home Screen and tap the app icon
Note: We always recommend making sure that the app is up to date, so that you have access to the newest fixes and features. For more information, see Updating your Android and app version.
If you delete the mobile app, no data or information will be lost. You can re-download the app anytime and sign in to your account to continue accessing SimplePractice.
Features available on the app for Android
The SimplePractice for Clinicians app on Android gives you access to many features that can help with the day-to-day of your practice. However, other features that can only be accessed from the browser version of SimplePractice.

Using the app on an Android tablet
If you're using an Android tablet, you have the option of accessing the browser version of SimplePractice from your browser or downloading the SimplePractice mobile app.
To create a shortcut that'll help you quickly navigate to the SimplePractice sign-in page on your Android tablet, follow the instructions below:
- Open your browser and go to the SimplePractice sign-in page
- Select the menu button
- On most Android devices, this is the three dots at the top of your screen
- Tap Add to Home Screen
You'll see a SimplePractice shortcut on the home screen of your tablet alongside your other apps. If you tap this shortcut, you'll be directed immediately to the SimplePractice sign-in page.
You can also download the SimplePractice for Clinicians app through the Google Play Store on your Android tablet. Keep in mind that the mobile app was designed for a smartphone, so the functionality and experience will be the same on a tablet as it is on a phone. There currently isn’t an Android tablet version of the SimplePractice for Clinicians app.
Tip: The Telehealth by SimplePractice mobile app is compatible with tablets and iPads.
