Previewing the appointment request widget

Previewing your appointment request widget helps you understand how prospective clients will experience booking through the appointment request widget on your external website, including how the widget behaves for new versus existing clients.

Note: For more information on adding the widget to your external website, see Adding the appointment request widget to your website.

To learn more about clinician-specific links for group practices, see Managing clinician-specific scheduling and contact form links.

Please keep in mind that the appointment request widget is intended for prospective clients. This means that:

  • New clients will be able to request an appointment directly from your website via the appointment request widget.
  • Existing clients will be redirected to sign in to the Client Portal, where they can request an appointment. This way, the appointment will be connected to their existing client profile. For instructions you can share with existing clients, see Viewing and requesting appointments in the Client Portal.

Note: Existing clients will be directed to sign into the Client Portal to request an appointment. To learn more about how clients can request appointments through their Client Portal, see Viewing and requesting appointments in the Client Portal.

Here's what a new client will see when they click the appointment request widget on your website:

  1. If there are multiple clinicians in your practice, the client will be prompted to select a clinician

Note: If you want clients to land on a specific clinician’s booking page, rather than choosing from a list of clinicians, you can share a clinician-specific appointment request link instead. To learn how to copy these links or get the embed code for clinician-specific widgets, see Embedding appointment request and contact form widgets.
