Managing browser extensions and ad blockers

Browser extensions can affect how SimplePractice loads and performs. They may interfere with how certain features function or store data in ways that aren’t HIPAA compliant.

For the most reliable and secure experience, we recommend removing or disabling browser extensions that interfere with SimplePractice. Below, you’ll find instructions for adjusting ad blocker settings and removing extensions, based on your browser:

Ad blockers and SimplePractice

Ad blockers are a type of browser extension, and they may block scripts that Telehealth or Secure Messaging rely on. SimplePractice does not display ads, so you can safely allow SimplePractice while keeping your ad blocker active on other websites.

Google Chrome includes a built-in ad blocker. If you see alerts that Chrome is blocking content on SimplePractice, you can adjust Chrome’s settings to allow our site. For step-by-step instructions, see Google Chrome’s guide: Visit a site by turning off Chrome's ad blocker.

Third-party ad blocker extensions, such as uBlock Origin or Adblock Plus, typically let you trust, allow, or exclude specific websites. If you use a third-party ad blocker extension, look for an option to allow secure.simplepractice.com within the extension’s settings.

Note: If allowing SimplePractice doesn't resolve the issue, you may need to temporarily disable the ad blocker extension while using SimplePractice.
