Minimum requirements for using SimplePractice

With a reliable internet connection, you can securely access your SimplePractice account from any computer, phone, or tablet. To take advantage of all available features and protect the security of your data, your device, operating system, and browser must meet our minimum requirements.

Computers

SimplePractice supports the following macOS versions:

SimplePractice supports the following Windows versions:

  • Windows 11 (version 22H2) (recommended)
  • Windows 10 (version 22H2)

For best performance, we recommend:

  • A processor of 2.5 GHz or higher
  • 4 GB of RAM minimum
    • 8 GB of RAM or more for optimal performance

Newer computers purchased within the last two years are generally more secure and better equipped to run modern browsers and web applications. Older devices may be more vulnerable to security risks and may not support certain features.


Mobile devices

For iPhones, the minimum requirement is iOS 17.3 or newer. For more information, see Devices and iOS versions that can support the app.

For Android, the minimum requirement is Android 12.0 or newer. For more information, see Devices and Android versions that can support the app.


Web browsers

SimplePractice supports the following browsers:

  • Google Chrome version 134, 133, 132, or higher
  • Mozilla Firefox version 136 (current version), 135, or higher
  • Safari version 18 or higher
  • Microsoft Edge version 134, 133, 132, or higher
  • Opera version 117, 116, 115, or higher
  • Internet Explorer is no longer supported
    • Due to security concerns, Microsoft no longer recommends using this browser

Internet connection

A reliable, high-speed internet connection with a bandwidth above 10-15 mbps will minimize connection issues and provide the best experience. 

SimplePractice requires an internet connection and does not support offline work. Any changes made without connectivity will not be saved.

Note: The Client Portal supports Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Opera. Your clients can also access their portal through the Client Portal mobile app on Android and iOS.
